Bollywood’s most talented actress Kareena Kapoor has always chosen projects based on strong scripts, so as to get enough room for performance. Impressed with the script and characterization, Kareena had immediately agreed to do Atul Agnihotri’s ‘Bodyguard’ as she liked the character of the female lead in the film very much.
‘Bodyguard’, which is a remake of a Malayalam film with the same title, has been directed by Siddique, who had earlier made the Tamil and Telugu version of this family-action drama. The director said that they needed a star performer for the female leading role opposite Salman and only Kareena aptly fitted the role.
“Kareena has seen Malayalam as well as Tamil version and knew from the very beginning where the girl's character was headed towards. This is what excited her most about doing the film. “Also the very reason behind her being approached for the part was some strong performance which was expected from the leading lady here. We needed a star performer here and Kareena fitted in just right.
“I am very happy with her performance. And why just me? I am sure after seeing the film; audience too would say that amongst the current bunch of actresses, only Kareena could have played this role,” said the South director Siddique.
Atul reminds Salman to complete ‘Bodyguard’ on time It’s heard that Atul has started wearing a T-shirt to the sets of ‘Bodyguard’ that reads ‘Bodyguard releasing this Eid', as a reminder for everyone on the sets to focus on work and complete the film without any delay.
Meanwhile, after seeing him wearing the T-shirt, people even joked that he wanted to remind Salman to finish the film on time. Apparently, Salman has been working for nearly 14 to 15 hours to finish shooting for ‘Bodyguard’.
Speaking about Salman, a source stated, "Salman has always taken his own sweet time to come on the sets of his films. However, for Bodyguard Salman has gone out of his way to finish it on time.
“Even though when he had to promote his production Chillar Party, he took time out to come back to Mumbai and shoot for the film. But it was a difficult film to shoot and thus certain portions are still remaining to be completed.”
Kareena demands 8 crore for ‘Heroine’? For the last couple of days, there had been reports that Kareena has demanded 8 crore for Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’. However, sources close to the film have rubbished these rumors by stating it to be false.
Speaking about Kareena’s 8 crore demand, a source stated, "This is more shocking than amusing actually. Aisa kahin hota hai kya? Rs. 8 crores? Come on, that's taking things a little too far. No heroine gets paid this heavily.
"Even when Aishwarya Rai was earlier on board, she had reduced her price and that too on an amicable note because she knew that the role was powerful enough. Why just her, even Arjun Rampal had agreed to do it at a reduced price. Seems like today, what seems to be conveniently forgotten is that this is a heroine oriented subject and such films have to made at a tight budget."
