Kim Kardashian is trying to save her ass!

April 11, 2009 |18:50 | Celebrities | General  By : Team X

Kim-Kardashian-is-trying-toI think I’ve decoded a message that Kim recently posted on her blog. Though the entry is camouflaged by her love for one-shoulder dresses.

It’s quite an easy task for anyone with an eye for detail to grasp the underlying message. Well, Kim wants you to stop staring at her ass!

Take a look at the original blog entry below and spot the encrypted message, I just love this Phillip Lim one-shoulder blue dress! I guess the asymmetrical one-shoulder look really is back for Spring 2009!

Michelle Obama wore a one-shoulder dress at the Inauguration, then Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet wore gorgeous one-shoulder dresses to the Golden Globes awards.

The look was all over the red carpet at the Oscars, too! I hope the trend stays for a while. I think it’s a really flattering look for curvy girls like me because it draws.

After arduously studying years worth of Oscar footage.

We at Cadenza half-understand the nomination snubs, backwards politics and weird rules (i.e. I’m pretty sure the Academy picks the winner for Best Supporting Actress out of a hat) that constitute this epic event.

So, we’ve decided to share our knowledge, and predict whom the Academy will choose to win, and why they were probably wrong. But first, the cinemaphiles,Stephanie Spera,Cecilia Razak,Percy OlsenTJ Keely ,Alex Torreno,Brian Stitt.

January 31, 2009 |17:30 | Celebrities | General | Music  By : Team X

A person close to Britney Spears says the singer has obtained a restraining order against former pal Osama "Sam" Lutfi and one-time boyfriend Adnan Ghalib. Attorneys for Spears and her father, who is her legal conservator, received the order Friday.

The person, who was not authorized to speak on the matter publicly and requested anonymity, said Lutfi and others were trying to gain control of Spears' affairs.

Lutfi was a manager and friend of Spears, whose mother once accused him of grinding pills into her food to control her. Ghalib, a paparazzo, had dated the singer.

The exact nature of the order, first reported Friday by the celebrity news site TMZ.com, was not clear; a court official said the documents remained in a judge's chambers. Messages left for Sam Lutfi were not immediately returned.

Francisco Costa's latest collection for Calvin Klein

September 22, 2008 |16:11 | General  By : Team X

When Francisco Costa succeeded Calvin Klein no one could have been more aware than he was of the scale of the challenge. But as this preview of his latest collection shows, he really needn't have worried. Maria Rose meets the designer in the brand's 40th year. Fashion by Charlie Harrington, photographs by Adrian Wilson

Francisco Costa's first foray into fashion was not exactly a success. He was 12 or 13, living in his native Brazil, when he was invited to visit his aunt and uncle for a week.

There was a rodeo and country fair on the agenda, and, remembers Costa, 'I decided I needed a special wardrobe.' So he sketched out a design and had a local seamstress whip it up. 'It was a burgundy wool-gaberdine safari suit,' he deadpans, and then bursts into laughter. 'Inspired by Saint Laurent! On the first day of the fair I got all dressed up, feeling so proud.

BBC to expand Australian channels

June 25, 2008 |15:50 | Channels | General | Gosspis  By : Team X

BBC Worldwide will lauch two new channels on Foxtel and will take equity control of the UKTV channel as part of a strategic alliance between the broadcasters.

That will take the UK Government owned service's channels on Foxtel to five in 2009, the companies said today.

BBC will introduce documentary channel BBC Knowledge and CBeebies, which will show educational programs for pre-schoolers, during 2009.

That will be in addition to BBC HD, launched this month, BBC World News, and UKTV, which the broadcaster is buying from Foxtel and FremantleMedia.

Foxtel currently has a 60 per cent stake in UKTV while FremantleMedia owns 20 per cent. BBC already owns the other 20 per cent.

"British programming is extremely popular with Australian audiences and this agreement will provide our subscribers with access to the best of BBC Worldwide's outstanding portfolio of global channels,'' Foxtel chief executive Kim Williams said.

Sydney-based Foxtel is owned by Telstra Corporation, which holds a 50 per cent stake, News Corporation (parent company of the publisher of NEWS.com.au), with 25 per cent, and Consolidated Media Holdings, also holding 25 per cent.

Movie star Angelina Jolie says being pregnant is "great for the sex life".

The actress, who is expecting twins with partner Brad Pitt, says the couple have become "a lot more creative" in bed since she gained her baby bump.

"As a woman you're just so round and full," she told Entertainment Weekly magazine in the US, "so you have fun".

The couple already have four children, three of whom were adopted. Jolie, 33, says that she and Pitt "really don't know" how they will cope with six.

"His mom and dad are on standby to come out and help," she admitted.

"And fortunately we can hire help if we need it, but we're going to try as we usually do to balance it as well as we can."

Guys, you can survive 'Sex and the City'

June 3, 2008 |18:04 | Celebrities | Film Industry | General | Gosspis | News  By : Team X

Man should not live by bread alone. Every once in a while, he should turn off The Game, ditch the remote, put on some clean clothes and embrace his feminine side.

That's what one man set out to do Friday when I journeyed to Glendale and dived into the first-night frenzy of "Sex and the City". Following in the steps of the countless legions of rabid female fans and their gay male comrades who packed theaters around the country to worship at the spiky heels of Carrie Bradshaw & Co., I wanted to see if I too could get "Carried Away." Accompanying a female posse of devotees, my attempt at a Girls Night Out hit a few bumps.

Just thinking about this undertaking probably horrifies the multitudes of proud beef-eating men who would rather endure a thousand shopping trips with their significant others than spend more than a minute with the "Sex and the City" crew. Weeks before the opening, in locker rooms and around water coolers, they spread their anti-"Sex" venom, declaring, "Heck, no, we won't go." Only they didn't say "heck."

However, there exists a quiet ya-ya brotherhood of straight men who have a divine secret: They can enjoy "Sex and the City" even without female coercion or guidance. The writing on the HBO series was often clever and snappy, the women were smart and attractive (I always had a weakness for Cynthia Nixon's Miranda), and the show provided valuable insight into how women view men, love and relationships. And contrary to the beliefs of the "Sex" haters, the girls seldom indulged in male bashing. The husbands and boyfriends had shortcomings, but they were generally honorable, decent dudes whom most guys wouldn't mind hanging out with.

Fashion wrap: Princesses of pop

May 28, 2008 |11:56 | General | Gosspis | News  By : Team X

This week's fashion wrap is dedicated to the princesses of pop - Natasha Bedingfield and Sarah Berelli went for comfy and casual while Avril Levigne continued on her one woman mission to claim the bad taste crown.

Singer Sara Bareilles wore jeans, basketball boots and a scarf  for her appearance on the television show MuchOnDemand in Toronto.

Singer-songwriter Natasha Bedingfield went for a low-key approach, wearing a striped top, cropped jacket, a cap and black jeans tucked into slouchy boots at a promotion for her latest release Pocketful of Sunshine.

Alicia Keys rugged up for her performance of NBC's Today Show in New York.

Ashlee Simpson chose to go for a little more glamour for the Conde Nast Traveler 8th Annual Hot List party in New York, she accessorised her little black dress with a Chanel pearl necklace.

And Avril Levigne, what can we say? Trying. Too. Hard.
